【在歷史建築「眾裡存珍」: 香港國際檔案週2024 】

要認識歷史唔單止可以去博物館睇展覽，仲可以喺日常生活嘅紀錄中發掘出嚟📁。

今年嘅國際檔案週以「眾裡存珍」為主題，將會喺6月8號舉辦一系列活動，包括喺保良局主樓呢幢一級歷史建築度舉行導賞團同講座。大家除咗可以趁機參觀呢幢歷史建築外，仲可以聽專家分享佢哋對保存同研究珍貴檔案嘅心得，不同受邀機構仲會喺當日展示佢哋嘅檔案珍藏㖭！

保良局主樓喺1932年啟用。主樓嘅天花同石刻對聯以中國傳統文化元素作為裝飾(例如寓意「福」嘅蝙蝠形浮雕)，而地面層室裡面嘅地板同牆身就用咗多種顏色嘅水磨石建造。主樓受到裝飾藝術風格影響，以多種元素裝飾，營造出新古典主義同中西元素並存嘅建築特色。

【“Archives of Us” International Archives Week 2024 at Historic Building】

History is not just hoarded in museums – it can also be unearthed from our daily records 📁.

Themed “Archives of Us”, the International Archives Week this year will host a series of events on 8 June, including talks and guided tours to be held at the Po Leung Kuk Main Building, a Grade 1 Historic Building. Apart from touring around this historic building, you may also listen to the sharing of experts on their preservation and research of precious records. Invited organisations will also showcase their treasured record collections on that day!

Po Leung Kuk Main Building was inaugurated in 1932. Its ceiling and stone couplets are decorated with traditional Chinese cultural elements, such as the bat-shaped relief which represents “blessing” according to the Chinese tradition. The floors and walls of the ground floor are furnished with colourful terrazzo. The building is ornamented with various decorative elements, showing the influence of Art Deco and displaying a sense of Neo-Classicism as well as a juxtaposition of Chinese and Western elements.

This is surely an incredible opportunity for heritage and history fans to discover the treasures therein!
